Come to the Table

I believe in the power of the table. The power to connect. To nourish. To heal.

That’s why I’m hosting The Giving Table–an intimate benefit dinner in my home–where you can be nourished body and soul. Join my Soul Sisters Jen Louden, Kirsten Helle, and Jennette Nielsen as we combine our passions to create this meaningful event. During our time together we’ll learn how to move beyond the foodie movement, and into the food justice movement, as personal passion matures into passionate action.

Jen Louden will be sharing stories about finding the place where we can savor our lives and serve others with ease and joy. While I’ll join in with some thoughts on releasing old messages and habits about “sacrifice” and “obligation” in order to step into a bright new form of juicy generosity.

Dinner is provided by Chef Kirsten Helle of Mesa de Vida who specializes in helping families create a legacy of vibrant, healthy, whole-foods meals.

And because we whole heartedly believe in beauty, Jennette Nielsen will be gracing our home with her baratijas sagrada, making the table a truly sacred space.

Profits from the event will go to Fresh Bucks, an initiative of Got Green?, led by women of color to empower families to gain access to fresh foods. Fresh Bucks matches EBT (food stamps) spent at local farmer’s markets, allowing families to use $10 in food stamps but buy $20 in fresh produce. (Good for farmers, great for families!)

On behalf of Jen, Kirsten, Jennette and myself, we thank you for directing your charitable giving in this direction! We’ll see you ’round the table.

Much Warmth,

Rachelle Mee-Chapman
